Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter Sunday, gather on the Woodson County Courthouse lawn for an Easter Egg Hunt. Each section is set apart for different age groups. Eggs, treats, and other goodies are provided by the Woodson County Chamber of Commerce and local sponsors. Call the Chamber office to find out how to sponsor or volunteer to keep this tradition alive for the kids in Woodson County!

Yates Center Days

The Woodson County Chamber of Commerce proudly hosts Yates Center Days on Memorial Day weekend. Locals and alumni fill the historic town square to enjoy the activities for all age groups. The festival kicks off Saturday morning and runs through Monday. A 5K fun run and walk, vendors, food trucks, live music, kids games, 3 on 3 tournament, free lunch by GNBank, car show, parade, class reunions, golf tournament, and memorial services are only part of the celebration! Toronto Days

The Toronto Booster Club plans the Toronto Days celebration over the 4th of July weekend. Vendors, parade, cornhole tournament, car show, mud volleyball, block party, and a huge fireworks show fill the weekend!

Woodson County Fair

The Fair is held every July at the county fairgrounds. 4-H members and open class participants come together to present projects that have taught responsibility, resiliency, camaraderie, and that hard work pays off. We wish all participants good luck!

Fall Festival

The October festival is held the second Saturday of the month. A cornhole tournament, vendors, kids inflatables and games, and live music are all sponsored by the Woodson County Chamber of Commerce.

Friends for Life Celebration

Friends for Life is a local organization founded in 2004. Friends for Life helps cancer patients and families in Woodson County with the many expenses they incur during their fight against cancer. The second Saturday in October the organization plans a fun run and walk followed by an auction and celebration ceremony. Hundreds of people come to the Yates Center community to support this event.

Trunk or Treat

The Woodson County Chamber of Commerce holds a Halloween event on the square. All ages from infant to adult line up on the square for a costume parade around the square. Prizes are awarded for the top three costumes in each age group. Trunk or treat vehicles line the square to hand out goodies. The top three vehicles are awarded a prize. We look forward to providing a safe and fun environment for all ages every year. Festival of Lights

This festival is a favorite!! Businesses and locals come together to light up the night and shine as a community. The evening is filled with kids activities, carols, Santa and Grinch pictures, a lighted parade, and ends with a Christmas movie. Prizes are awarded to the top three lighted parade entries. The Woodson County Chamber puts on this festival along with several local sponsors. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, volunteering, or entering the parade please call the Chamber office.

Adopt-a-Child for Christmas

Adopt-a-Child is underway! Registration forms are Due November 22nd, 2021. We’re always on the lookout for Santas who would like to adopt a child for Christmas. If you’d like to participate, send us a message, call us, or stop in at the Chamber Office and we’ll get your contact information. When we have a registration form that matches the number of children you’d like to adopt, we’ll send you a Wish List for the child(ren). You get to shop for gifts and make someone’s Christmas very special!

We are also accepting donations if you do not wish to do the shopping yourself. Use the donate button to donate to our Adopt-a-Child Fund and your donation will go toward gifts for children this holiday season.
